The London Churches Refugee Fund raises money to give small grants to organisations assisting destitute refugees and asylum-seekers.
Asylum-seekers are often demonised in public imagination. The reality for many is a life of fear, despair and destitution. We support agencies that work to relieve and assist those who reach our shores and often find the door shut to them.
The London Churches Refugee Fund is a charity that raises money to give small grants to organisations assisting refugees and asylum-seekers in the Greater London Area. Our funds are restricted to those who are destitute.
Keep in touch with us. We report back to our supporters through our AGM and annual report and by occasional email updates. And we post information on upcoming fundraising events such as our annual carol singing at Oxford Circus.
Archbishop Rowan Williams was the keynote speaker at our AGM on Tuesday 21st June.
Children at risk in the "Jungle" camp
'The Christian gospel says, among other things, uncontrollable other people are God’s children and God’s beloved; uncontrollable other people have no more and no less right than you to be where they are and who they are; and, the merciful good news of God says to us, compassionately and gently: “Get used to it! This is the world you are in, this is reality, God’s reality.” '
Our 21st Grant Round is open for applications from agencies working with destitute refugees and asylum seekers in London. The deadline for applications is 31st October. Please note that we cannot accept applications from individuals.
